WOW I didn’t realize that it has been so long since I posted last!
But we have been sick!
We have all had a flu bug
Then we all had a stomach bug ( which some of us are still trying to get over)
and now we have the flu bug again!
It is that time of the year when you are lucky to come through it with just a sniffle.
But there is too many of us for the many flus to not cycle that we are not hit a few times.
But it could be worse
and we do have some tactics that have kept us from getting them worse.
We eat a lot of garlic!
yes Garlic
my husband calls it nature’s wonder drug.
This however may not be your kettle of fish but it is worth a try and is very Jamaican a remedy… mixing up a strong garlic tea.
Or garlic tea with Ginger.
The way we do it is to simply
pour boiling water over two cloves of peeled garlic crushed or diced ( depends on the mood)
slices of ginger could be added as well.
Let sit for 3-5 minutes (covered)
And strain and drink.
Or you could boil it as he does here or as she does it here
Or go here for other local remedies.
Some simple ways to keep the flu at bay: ( as seen in every doctors office or clinic)
Wash your hand OFTEN
Keep you hands away from your face.
Keep surfaces clean of the virus by wiping them with a solution of one part bleach to 10 parts water.
and with a sick child who is feeling good because of medicine and is now bored
now is a good time to pull out a board games, word search books and favourite reading books.
What are your favourite go to flu/cold remedies?
And favourite get better activities?
