Oh wow it’s December 1 which means that we have only 24 days till Christmas.
Feel free to join us in a happy dance.
Lights turn on today (yes I know I said we would put it up in November but the Daddy kinda frowned at us so we waited)
and the countdown till the Christmas holidays is really on.
Of course like everyone else Christmas shopping is on our min.
Last year this time I highlighted some Jamaican items that would make great gifts and they are actually still current. See here.
I would also add to the list Jamaican playing cards to the list I think they are a genius gift to send to friends or family living outside of Jamaica. They are a fabulous tool to brush up on Jamaican facts and history while playing a card game.
And of course Kellie Magnus’ new baby board book Trixie Triangle .
and One Love by Cedella Marley
I have always been a supporter of buying local and I am happy to support the ‘Buy Jamaican campaign’ this Christmas. Karin of YardEdge.com describes it in detail here.
And with buying Jamaican in mind this weekend Grosvernor Galleries will be hosting their
‘2011 Christmas and Art Fair’ December 3 and 4. 10a.m. – 5 p.m., No admission charge.
and
Devon House’s Market on the Lawn returns on December 11 and 18.
Both events are perfect for Christmas gifts and for Buying Jamaican.
Happy Shopping.

I agree with you that buying local is so important. Foreign made objects, i.e. from a certain communist country, and chain stores are so much cheaper but we must support our local economy!
