It could have been a very busy weekend if we had done what was offered in Kingston. We however laid low and did some quiet family time while munching on some peanuts. 🙂
Liguanea Art Festival
The easiest way to expose children to art has to be at the Liguanea Art Festival held every year in April. Admission is free which is always a good thing. And on top of all the wonderful art, painting, drawings, sculpture and photography there is usually face painting for the children, a hands on clay session and maybe even some t-shirt art.
I usually have a great time showing my children all the things that an imaginative and creative mind can achieve and they always enjoy the ‘kids stuff’. So next year for sure we will be there growing our minds a little bit more.
The Jamaica Horticultural Society annual Flower Show
Flowers, Flowers and more flowers is the theme of the Jamaica Horticultural Society Annual Flower show also held this weekend. This event is best for the budding gardener in your family or photographer. And even for the child that just plain love flowers and vegetation.
Of which I have in my older daughter. (7 years). Mind you she is game for anything once it takes her out of the house. My son (9) though loves to point and click so if he was armed with camera this would be the ideal outing for him as well. The added bonus of cotton candy and icy cold sno-cones and the bounce or two on the bounce-about makes this a super way to spend a Saturday or Sunday evening (this event was also on this weekend.)
